Availability Workable for a small team. Shared processor time shows up as lag once concurrent conversations climb. General purpose Long-lived connections need steady processor time more than they need peak speed. Dedicated Dedicated cores for large concurrent loads, where a neighbour’s spike would otherwise be felt as delay. Burstable Throttles under sustained load, and a messaging server is sustained load by definition.
